Harpist

Bianca Beng is a Singapore-based harpist with a strong international performing profile. She has won top prizes at the Thailand International Youth Harp Competition, Asia Harp Chamber Competition, and Enkor International Chamber Competition, and received major accolades during her studies at the Royal Academy of Music, including the Guy Magrath Harp Prize (2021) and “Very Highly Commended” in the Skaila Kanga Harp Prize (2020). Most recently, she won the Sydney Concert Orchestra (SCO) Concerto Competition 2024 and will debut with the orchestra in its 2025 season.
She has performed at numerous local and international festivals and events, including the World Harp Congress (Hong Kong, Australia), Asia Harp Festival (Korea), Académie musicale de Villecroze (France), Young Artist Harp Seminar (USA), and the Lee Kuan Yew World Cities Award Ceremony (Singapore). Bianca is an active collaborator, premiering new works in London and performing in Singapore with groups such as West Wind Band Singapore and Vox Camerata. She is also a founding member of Viva Rave, Singapore’s first professional harp ensemble dedicated to promoting harp music, and has performed with various Royal Academy orchestras under conductors including Semyon Bychkov, Sir Mark Elder, and John Wilson.
Bianca holds a Master of Music Studies (High Distinction) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music under Alice Giles, supported by the Iremonger Marceau Family Scholarship. She earned a Bachelor of Music (First Class Honours) from the Royal Academy of Music in London under Catherine White, along with the Dominions Fellowship Award, and completed the LRAM teaching qualification. She has participated in masterclasses with leading harpists worldwide and has contributed to music education initiatives in Singapore, including NAC’s Silver Arts Project.
