While beginning his musical journey as a classically trained trumpeter, Yi Yang is currently a bassist playing mostly pop and rock. He has played at several bistros and clubs around Singapore, and has done sessions for artists like deførmed and Aniq Rusyaidi at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre, as well as Elton Lee, whose composition 记得忘了clinched both the Best Song and Outstanding Composition Awards at SG:SW 2022. He currently plays at Shang Live House on Thursdays and Fridays.

Outside of the professional scene Yi Yang is also an active member of award and competition-winning bands like metal-core outfit Eden Eyes and J-rock band Mike Miller, as well as comedy trio Rathmock.
