Glen first saw his music career take flight when he joined and made it to Top 4 of the nation-wide singing competition “The Final 1”. It was during this time that he wrote his first original song “Untitled”, which was soon showcased on the soundtrack of locally directed film, “Three Peas In A Pod”, directed by Michelle Chong. Glen has since developed his passion for song-writing, having written some of the songs for his band, stillsunrise, who launched their first EP - ‘Colours In Black’. Past events include various music & social events, product launches, company dinners, weddings and fashion shows, performing a combination of both original songs & covers.
His voice & music brings a sense of calm to the soul, enticing emotions that some words may not be able to describe. Through his music, he is able to not only entertain his audience, but also open a gateway that links them to their own experiences and emotions.
With the successful release of singles “Send me an Angel” and “Walking on the Side”, followed by the release of his first full-length solo album “Sounds in the City”
with Warner Music on all digital platforms, he boasts a variety of ambient and festival sounds that will explore his versatility not only as a singer, but also as a song-writer.
After obtaining his Bachelors of Music Performance from the Australian Institute of Music(AIM), Glen has become a household name for gigs in Melbourne Australia, boasting 6 years of experience in high profile corporate gigs, fashion events, wedding reception entertainment & music festivals. Specialising in sound set-up, sound design & performance entirely independently. He has also developed a unique style of performance that encapsulates a full band sound as one person (One-man-band) through his multi instrumental talent, playing the drums, guitar & singing both original songs & covers. Glen also specialises in a melbourne inspired improvised performance art, where he creates ambient instrumental & vocal material in the performance, making it a uniquely one-time experience for the listeners. He is also experienced in jingle productions for corporate use & have had his compositions used in advertisement campaigns for brands such as “McDonalds” & “Decathlon”
Glen draws inspiration from various streams of music. His early influences stemmed from the pop stylings of Jason Mraz and the soulful funk of the Bee Gees. As his song-writing progressed, his formal education in jazz through the bachelor's degree laid foundational grounds for his music. Glen drew deeper inspiration from contemporary folk, jazz & soul music, combining the classic sounds of 70s motown stylings & singer-songwriter folk story telling with new age Neo-Soul/R&B, his strongest modern influences being D’angelo & Leon Bridges. Glen has a keen ear for delicate melodies, combining his folk writing with R&B/jazz/soul colors, Glen has morphed his song-writing and style to something he can call his own, gravitating towards a cinematic, indie, soulful experience.
