Joyce excelled in Dizi, winning distinctions in the NUS-CFA Dizi Diploma and NAFA-CCM Dizi Grade 9. She secured first place in the Dizi Open Category at the National Arts Council National Chinese Music Competition (NCMC) in 2008, along with first prizes in the NAC-NCMC Ensemble Category in 2010 and 2012.
As a former SYCO member from 2004 to 2014, she played solo concertos with the SYCO in 2010 and 2013, even performing abroad in Taiwan. She also played a solo concerto titled "Joy" during the Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) Marathon Finale Concert in 2012 and worked as a Dizi guest musician with the SCO.
Joyce graduated with distinction in Music and Audio Technology from Singapore Polytechnic (SP) and earned a B.A. with Merit in Theatre Studies at NUS, holding ABRSM Grade 5 Music Theory.
Her extensive performance record includes international appearances in Hong Kong, Ipoh, France, Taiwan, Beijing, and Jakarta, as well as local TV shows. She was part of SCO & T'ang Quartet's "Huang Ruo's Paradise Interrupted" in 2016 and guest-performed with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra for their National Day Concert in 2018 and 2022.
Since 2007, Joyce has been teaching Dizi in various schools and is now a full-time CCA instructor, AMIS music enrichment instructor, and PA Trainer with Cheng San CC Chinese Orchestra.
Currently, Joyce leads Yun Ensemble and performs at various prestigious venues and events, including the Esplanade, Botanic Gardens, Singapore Conference Hall, hotels, private corporate events, and festivals.
